The Feudo Magazzeni, with the collaboration of specialized guides, organizes on request excursions along different breathtaking routes, to discover and live in total symbiosis with the nature of Etna's beauties. On request you can enjoy a packed lunch.

Birch

After an internal journey through the rows of hazel trees, you can admire a splendid specimen of Birch Aetnensis, a species left to us after the withdrawal of ice in the last glaciation.

This specimen, cataloged in the national register of monumental trees, is extraordinary both for its proportions (more than 20 meters high) and for its low-level position (it was born, in fact, during the last mini-concert of 1500) which make it unique in its kind with the neighboring Castagno of the 100 horses and Ilice of Carrinu.

Eruptive Mouths of 1928

Leaving the entrance gate and taking the mule track in front, in about half an hour you reach the eruptive vents of 1928 in the contrada ripa / naca. Naca in Sicilian language means cradle, and it is precisely from a depression in the ground that in 1928 very much a lava flow gushed that in 15 days buried the entire ancient town of Mascali and reached almost to the sea. Most panoramic route that enters the dense Cerrita forest, rich in Etna oaks, and finally gives an extraordinary panorama, the scene of admirable natural events 90 years ago.

Along the way you can also admire the semi-artificial caves excavated in the past centuries to keep the winter snows and extract them during the summer for domestic use and for the production of the famous granite.

Rifugio Citelli

The reference mountain refuge of the Sant’Alfio slope is the Salvatore Citelli refuge (1746 meters above sea level) which can be reached by car in 15 minutes along the Via Mareneve from our farm.

From the Citelli refuge, via the Pizzi Deneri path, it is possible to reach a summit at an altitude of 2,847 meters asl A trekking or skiing route for users with mountaineering experience, while both the Sartorius and Monte Baracca mountains are easily reachable with the adjoining CAI refuge. via a path that can also be traveled by mountain bike.

On the road leading to the Citelli it is possible to visit several caves within easy reach such as the Grotta dei Ladroni.

Piano Provenzana

Staying on the Mareneve, in just 20 minutes from the agriturismo, you reach Piano Provenzana (the ski resort on our side).

It is possible to make excursions to reach the base of the summit craters: a volcanic desert made of silence and majesty or excursions in the wildest and uncontaminated areas of Etna, where vegetation and volcanic landscape meet to form a perfect harmony. p>
